In recent times, many projects taken up by Tamil superstar, Suriya haven't worked out at the box office. Say it a fantasy thriller or a simple actioner, somehow Surya hasn't seen box office success for some years. At this juncture, he has surprised everyone by signing a direct Telugu movie that his fans are asking to do for a long time.
Ever since Tamil hero Surya's first ever direct Telugu movie was announced, Sithara Entertainment’s “Vishwanath and Sons,” directed by Venky Atluri, there was a huge buzz that the film is a remake. Some said that the film drew its inspiration from the Bollywood movie Kapoor and Sons, while some felt that the movie is a freemake of the Malayalam film, Prithviraj Sukumaran's Kangaroo.
However, the team has clarified that Vishwanathan and Sons is an original script written by Venky Atluri, and that has impressed Surya big time, but there is nothing like a remake or freemake. Though the closeness of the title and the first look poster might have triggered those copy-rumours, it’s coming out that Suriya and Venky are making something original only.
