Vishwanath and Sons Box Office Day 2: Suriya Film Crosses Rs 74 Crore Worldwide

Suriya’s latest family entertainer Vishwanath and Sons is showing strong growth at the box office. The film opened in theatres on Friday and received positive reactions from audiences. After a decent opening day, the movie recorded a big jump on its second day.

According to trade estimates, Vishwanath and Sons collected around Rs 22.25 crore net in India on Day 2. The film had collected around Rs 15 crore on its opening day. This means the movie saw close to 45 percent growth on Saturday. The strong jump is a good sign for the film as it enters its first weekend.

With the Day 2 collection, the film’s total India net collection has reached around Rs 37.60 crore. Its India gross collection is around Rs 43.47 crore. The movie also performed well in overseas markets. It reportedly earned around Rs 17 crore from overseas on Day 2, taking its overseas gross to nearly Rs 31 crore.

As a result, the film has reached an impressive Rs 74.47 crore worldwide gross in just two days. The movie is now looking to enter the Rs 100 crore worldwide club soon. If the film continues to maintain its momentum on Sunday, it could get much closer to the milestone.

The occupancy numbers also show that audiences are responding well to the movie. The Tamil version recorded around 65.76 percent overall occupancy on Day 2. The Telugu version performed even better, with around 76.12 percent occupancy.

The film has benefited mainly from its family-friendly content. Instead of depending heavily on action or mass scenes, the movie focuses on family relationships, emotions and entertaining characters. This approach appears to be connecting well with audiences.

Suriya is leading the film, while Mamitha Baiju and Radhika Sarathkumar play important roles. Director Venky Atluri has presented the story as a warm family drama with humour and emotions.

Suriya has already thanked audiences for their love and support. Actor Karthi also praised the film, especially its writing, characters and performances.
