Smart Sithara Locks The Independence Day Weekend

Like we have been telling from days, already there’s buzz in the trade circles that the films that have actualliy locked the August release are actually struggling to come on time. Though there is a good two months' time already, there’s no chance that Nani’s upcoming big-budget bonanza “The Paradise” will hit cinemas on August 21st. Catching on to this buzz, ace production house Sithara Entertainment made its mighty move already.

Already the teaser of “Viswanath and Sons” fetuarng Tamil hero Suriya in the lead, and directed by proven filmmaker Venky Atluri has worked out well. The film deals with the love relationship of an older man with a younger woman, played by Mamitha Baiju. As the teaser has already set up the debate well, now the success of Suriya’s Karuppu (Veerabhadrudu in Telugu) has given more momentum for the Suriya starrer. As that film collected ₹250 crores gross already, surely the expectations on the hero’s next will be high.

Owing to all of this, with August getting empty, to cash on the Independence Day weekend, Suriya’s Viswanath and Sons got moved from tentative July to August 14th release now. While the 14th is Friday, the 15th we have Independence Day weekend on Saturday, and that gives a stunning advantage for the movie. Hope they won’t change the release date based on other biggies, if at all those biggies confirm the date.
