Why is Suriya's House Under Police Protection?

Kollywood star hero Suriya's house has been under police protection for the past two and a half years. The government has been giving protection for such a long time which has become a huge point of discussion. As we know, Suriya has not been living in Chennai lately but his house is still guarded by policemen which is raising a lot of questions.

In 2021, Suriya, Jyothika and TJ Gnanavel made ‘Jai Bhim' together. It was released directly on Amazon Prime Video and generated a huge applause. ‘Rudra Vanniyar Sena' organisation has complained that a few scenes in the movie are disrespectful towards their community. Irular community (Aadivasis) were shown as getting tortured by their people in the movie which did not go down well.

The organisation has announced that whoever attacks Suriya will be given 1 lakh rupees as prize money. They demanded a public apology from the actor as well as 5 crores as compensation. Due to this, Suriya's house in T Nagar was given protection by the Tamil Nadu government. They have been guarding Suriya's house ever since. There is no one in the house as Suriya is living in Mumbai for the past year due to his commitments and Jyothika's movies.

Still, four policemen are present in front of Suriya's house all the time. Social worker Krishna Murthy questioned the reason for police protection to the hero's house despite his absence. With this news getting a lot of attention, many are saying that this exposes the irresponsibility of the government in the state.
