In this latest ad for sports goods manufacturer Novig, Sydney has slipped into a fully nude avatar as she poses with rugby, basketball, football, and tennis balls, where most of the time the balls and rackets have covered her modesty. Though Instagram and other social media sites often flag normal people for excessive nudity, here Sydney left nothing to the imagination, but the social media giants haven’t restricted it.
The post fetched 2.2 million likes in just a day, while many complain that such revealing ads are needed just to promote sports goods. Many athletes, including British sprinter Amy Hunt, gymnast Gracie Kramer and boxer Skye Nicolson, condemned the use of a woman’s body to promote sports, while the real athletes work hard to reach finesse and perfection.
Despite all the outrage, the sales of Novig’s goods are said to be on the rise after the ads featuring Sydney Sweeney were bombarded all over the internet.
