"They Asked Me to Wear a Padded Bra" - Taapsee Pannu About South Industry

Taapsee Pannu who started her film journey in the South Indian film industry and later became a strong name in Bollywood, is once again in the news for her bold comments. Taapsee is known for speaking honestly, without fear. During the promotions of her upcoming film ASSI, she spoke openly about some uncomfortable experiences she faced while working in South Indian films.

In a recent interview, Taapsee revealed how actresses are often judged for their looks and body shape in the South film industry. She said that during some shoots, especially song sequences, she was asked to wear a padded bra. According to her, the biggest problem was how such things were discussed openly on the film set, making the situation very awkward for her as an actor.

Taapsee shared her feelings clearly and honestly. She said:“In South, they often said to wear a padded bra, and the problem is who should the director tell on the set. Imagine how embarrassing it would be when you’re shooting a song on set and everyone is looking at the difference.”

She explained that when such comments or instructions are made in front of many people, it creates discomfort and embarrassment. As a woman and a professional actor, dealing with such moments was not easy for her.

This is not the first time Taapsee has spoken about such issues. In the past too, she had criticized certain scenes in South films where heroines were shown in an objectifying way. Her comments had gone viral earlier as well. Now, once again, her words have started a fresh discussion on social media about how actresses are treated on film sets.
