Tabla maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain passed away at 73 in a San Francisco hospital due to heart-related complications. The news has come as a big shock to the music lovers. The Indian music fraternity is not able to digest this and the loss of Zakir is irreplaceable.
Zakir Hussain is known for his exceptional talent and global influence in Indian classical and fusion music. Hussain earned numerous accolades. He won the Padma Vibhushan and a Grammy Award. Zakir Hussair was also awarded the Padma Shri in 1988. He was also awarded with the Padma Bhushan in 2002. Zakir was awarded with the Padma Vibhushan in 2023 by the Government of India.
