Tabu Goes Hollywood With 'Dune: Prophecy'!

She will be seen essaying the role of sister Francesca in the Max prequel series 'Dune: Prophecy'.

Tabassum Fatima Hashmi aka Tabu often comes up with entertaining roles every now and then but it is the challenging characters she played throughout her career that made her one of the finest actors in Indian cinema. She has been in the film industry since 1991 and has done many movies across languages like Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. After giving numerous award-worthy performances, Tabu is now making her way into Hollywood.

She will be seen essaying the role of sister Francesca in the Max prequel series 'Dune: Prophecy'. Tabu says her character is, “Strong, intelligent, and alluring, Sister Francesca leaves a lasting impression in her wake. Once a great love of the Emperor, her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital.”

The series was originally commissioned with the title 'Dune: The Sisterhood' back in 2019. The report claims, “Set within the expansive universe of Dune, created by acclaimed author Frank Herbert, and 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit”.

The series will include noted actors like Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Johdi May, Travis Fimmel, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Mark Strong, Chloe Lea, Josh Heuston, Jade Anouka, Edward Davis, Faoileann Cunningham, Aoife Hinds, Shalom Brune-Franklin and Chris Mason. Diane Ademu-John developed the series while Alison Schapker is the showrunner.

As we know, two 'Dune' films have arrived till date and they grossed more than $1.1 billion till date. Tabu was last seen in 'The Crew' which turned out to be a decent success.
