The Tamil Nadu government has appointed K Venkata Narayana as the state's Special Representative in New Delhi for one year. The appointment was officially announced on Friday through a government order. He will take charge on a temporary basis, and the government will announce the detailed terms and conditions of his role later.

K Venkata Narayana is well known in the film industry. He is the producer of the upcoming Tamil movie Jana Nayagan. The film stars Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader C. Joseph Vijay in the lead role. It is directed by H. Vinoth, features music by Anirudh Ravichander, and is being produced by KVN Productions.

Narayana has been closely associated with Vijay for some time. He was also seen with Vijay during an important meeting with Governor R.V. Arlekar earlier this year. Because of this close relationship, his appointment has attracted attention across political circles.

The role of Special Representative is considered important. The person holding this position acts as a bridge between the Tamil Nadu government and the Central government in New Delhi. The representative helps coordinate meetings with Union ministers, supports the Chief Minister during official visits, keeps track of Central government policies, and assists Members of Parliament from Tamil Nadu during Parliament sessions.

However, the appointment has also led to criticism from the opposition. DMK Rajya Sabha MP P. Wilson questioned the decision to appoint a film producer to such an important administrative post. He said the government has the right to choose anyone for the position, but the appointment should always be made keeping the state's administrative needs in mind. According to him, selecting a film producer for the role could reduce the importance of the office.

So far, the Tamil Nadu government has not issued any response to the criticism.

Meanwhile, Jana Nayagan has remained in the news for several reasons. Reports said the film's release was delayed due to certification issues. It also faced a setback after a high-quality version of the movie was reportedly leaked online before its official release.

The appointment has now become a major topic of discussion in both political and film circles.
