Even though there is no big buzz, right now Telugu Box Office is having amost half-dozen movies at the box office. Last Thursday and Friday, we had almost 4 new films hitting the marquee, while there are 2 old horses that are still doing well. Let’s have a look at them.

Last week we saw Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s production venture Romanchakam released, and the film is doing okayish. Though critics haven’t given a thumbs-up, a section of the audience enjoyed it, so the weekend collections are impressive, but the Monday dip will determine where it stands. Then comes Allari Naresh’s Ramba Urvasi Menaka, which seems like a washout as the film failed to live up to expectations. Even another Telugu film, Saaha, whose actress promised that she would tonsure her head in Ameerpet if the film failed, has failed.

At the same time, Dulquer Salman’s I’m Game also released last week, and it sank without a trace already. Many felt that Mirzapur would have many takers in Telugu, but the film turned out to be a weak link only. Though it’s enjoying 100 crores success in Hindi, Telugu states outrightly rejected it.

Coming to the old horses, both Raviteja’s Irumudi and Suriya’s Viswanath & Sons are still seeing good fills, while Irumudi has superiority in terms of collections. Meanwhile, the Malayalam film Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is seeing good fills in A centres in Telugu states, while the Telugu version is not available in multiplexes; the Malayalam version with subtitles is getting attention.
