Tollywood wants those 5 superstars, but…

It is an established fact that the Telugu film industry is largely surviving on the big films that are made by the top five superstars Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan.
The same was reinstated by senior Suniel Narang as he called for more films from the big superstars in order to bring the audience to the theatres.
He said that idea belonged to the past, about ten years ago. Today, many actors are active, and the industry needs at least 50 to 60 films releasing each year to grow steadily. Despite India’s population being 150 crore, there are only about 30 to 40 strong, bankable actors, he noted.
So, instead of criticizing the few working actors, the focus should be on supporting them. He also mentioned that they have no right to comment on actors’ remuneration and that their only wish is for actors to do more films.
New secretary Sridhar emphasized that any business is based on demand and supply. Since 2016, they’ve been fighting for a fair percentage system in single-screen theaters.
He expressed concern about the challenges faced in keeping single screens running but clarified they never said theaters should shut down. He added that theaters were kept free especially for Pawan Kalyan’s movie and shared concern that only three films have been hits since January.
