Ticket Price Confusion: How Will Tollywood React?

The Telugu film industry is currently caught in a tough position where producers are not able to decide whether or not to go for ticket price hikes. The situation is so very hostile and unpredictable that no one is able to get a measure of what is happening in the film industry.

For instance, we have recent blockbusters like Pushpa 2 and Devara, which could run well at the box office with the additional ticket price. These films had hired places in the Telugu states, but managed to pull revenues due to good word of mouth.

But at the same time, we are witnessing the cases of War 2 which are sinking with these added prices.

The issue here is that producers and distributors are not able to get a clear measure of how the Telugu are judging a film based on the promotional material. What is for certain is that additional prices are warranting the film audience to demand more from the makers and are expecting A grade content.

If the film is ordinary and the ticket prices are hiked then the audience are simply not ready to come to theatres.

This is turning out to be the case with a Telugu film industry as the producers are still struggling to identify which film can go for additional prices and which film must stand with standard prices.

What is for certain here is that the Telugu audience are expecting quality content from the Telugu film makers and it is the responsibility of the directors to make sure this happens.
