Talks over wage hikes in the Telugu film industry have dragged on for months without a result. Now, things are reaching a tipping point. Leaders from the Telugu Film Chamber and Producers' Council met with the Labor Commissioner, asking for two more days to resolve the issue. The Telugu Cine Workers Federation also met him and stood firm on their demands.

The Labor Commissioner has given both parties two days to come to an agreement. He asked the Federation not to disrupt film shoots until then. But workers say they’re done waiting. They’ve been pushing for better pay for six months, and the recent Chamber meeting didn’t solve anything.

With costs rising, the Federation says their demands are reasonable. They reminded producers how workers took pay cuts during COVID-19. Now, they expect fair treatment.

What happens in the next two days matters. If talks work, the industry keeps moving. If not, film shoots will stop from August 1.
