Telugu cinema has been incredibly consistent over the years when it comes to delivering films that have been collecting more than ₹1000 crore at the global box office.

In fact, even Hindi cinema has been struggling to give competition to Telugu cinema when it comes to delivering such iconic blockbusters.

We have the case of neighbouring Tamil cinema, which has been trying desperately to enter the ₹1000 crore mark. Their latest attempt at this is obviously Thalaivar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2.

The film has collected in the vicinity of ₹750 crore till now, and it is not likely to touch more than ₹800 at the global box office. It is likely to camp around this similar margin. It will definitely be the biggest industry hit in Tamil cinema till date, but will not set the ₹1000 benchmark.

With other stars like Vijay and Ajith completely occupied with a different occupations, Tamil Cinema can very well a goodbye to the ₹1000 crore mark in the foreseeable future.

The upcoming collaboration of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan will obviously be projected for this massive number, but that is a thing in the future, and no one knows what would be the actual prospect.

The main point of difference between Telugu Cinema and Tamil Cinema has been with the fact that big scale Telugu films have been attracting Hindi audience which is contributing significant revenues. Tamil cinema has not cracked this code even to this day.
