Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay has finally spoken openly about the delay of his much-awaited film Jana Nayagan and how his entry into politics has affected his cinema career. In a recent interaction with the media, Vijay shared his honest feelings and admitted that the film has suffered because of his political journey.
Vijay said he feels genuinely sad for his producer. He explained that he was already aware that politics could create obstacles for his films. He mentally prepared himself for such challenges but seeing his producer go through difficulties has deeply affected him. “I feel bad for my producer because JanaNayagan is suffering due to my political entry. I expected that films could get affected because of my politics and I was mentally prepared for that,” he said.
This interview was Vijay’s first direct conversation with a national media outlet after entering politics. He described it as a kind of mock interview and said that while some people felt he spoke less, he believes he regularly communicates with the public through his speeches. Vijay added that he will interact with the media more openly at the right time.
During the same interaction, Vijay also spoke about his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan. He called Shah Rukh Khan his role model and praised him for his words, confidence, and personality. Vijay shared that SRK has influenced him not just as an actor, but also as a human being. Their bond became a talking point earlier when Shah Rukh Khan visited Chennai during the shooting of Jawan.
Talking about Jana Nayagan, the film is directed by H Vinoth and is said to be a commercial entertainer with strong political themes. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
