While Indians living in the USA comfortably spend $30 on a single ticket, which accounts to nearly ₹2700, Indians living in India spend that much money only on ‘Benefit Show’ tickets of stars like Pawan Kalyan. However, there is this Hollywood movie coming up, and now Indians are happily paying over ₹3000 for a single ticket. Many are wondering about the craze for the film, and here’s what it proves.

Director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film “The Odyssey” is likely to hit cinemas on July 17th, and there will be some IMAX format screenings also, as the film was shot on original IMAX format film and cameras. As the bookings for that show opened on June 8th, there was a huge rush for the tickets. While the tickets in top-tier cities like Mumbai and Pune are priced at ₹700 to ₹1400 for the first week, this surge for tickets might actually lead to a higher hike in the prices. Trade experts are saying that the film’s ticket price might touch ₹4000 as well. Here’s the highest so far.

Already, the tickets of the 7 am show at Cinepolis Aundh and the 9 am show at Inox Megaplex in Pune are being sold for ₹2600 and ₹3000, respectively. This is the highest price for the best seats, while lower seats will get lower pricing. Guess what, already the tickets are being booked out big time, and this proves the love for Christopher Nolan in India.

If a director proves his mettle big time, and if his film is arriving with expectations, surely the ticket price never worries the audience. If this is the situation for The Odyssey, tomorrow what would be the situation for SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi movie? It will be a euphoria for sure!
