Rebel Star Prabhas’ latest film The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, has hit cinemas today amidst huge expectations. Going by the promotions, one would easily expect the kind of glamour showcasing that Nidhie Aggerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar offered. But then, there are not just three heroines in the movie, but eight heroines.
Apart from the above-mentioned heroines, The Raja Saab has many heroines playing, but not necessarily in heroine roles. Firstly, senior actress Zarina Wahab, who played Prabhas’ grandma, was once a heroine and acted in a couple of Telugu movies too, even opposite ANR and Krishna. Then we have Kannada actress Manisha Kandkur, who played the heroine’s friend. She’s doing lead roles in Kannada, but acted in Raja Saab. Even another Telugu actress, Sultana, who is acting in some small movies as the lead, appeared in the movie.
Then there is Tamil actress Ammu Abhirami, who appeared as young Zarina Wahab, and is a busy heroine in the Tamil circuits. At the same time, Telugu actress Anandhi, who plays leads in films, acted in a small role in Raja Saab. That takes the total count of heroines who appeared in the film to eight, thus making Raja Saab a special film featuring many girls who are actually playing leads in other movies.
Overall, the film stands for its horror comedy and the glamorous treatment of the main heroines until now, but after the public talk is out, it looks like lots of disappointment is on the cards.
