Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is known for his films as well as his penchant for controversies. He often voices criticism against top Bollywood stars and indirectly targeted Prabhas in preview interviews.

Despite his claims of not fearing competition, his latest film, "The Vaccine War," struggled to secure even a modest opening, failing to cross the 1 crore mark on its release. A noteworthy aspect is that Pallavi Joshi, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's wife, produced "The Vaccine War."

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Sapthami Gowda, and Anupam Kher, with supporting roles played by Girija Oak, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Mohan Kapur. It received a 'U' certification from CBFC.

Before the film's release, Vivek Agnihotri dismissed concerns about competition with Prabhas' "Salaar," claiming that his previous film, "The Kashmir Files," had outperformed Prabhas' "Radhe Shyam." However, "Salaar" was postponed, and "The Vaccine War," while receiving positive reviews, failed to make a significant mark at the Indian box office on its opening day.

Despite the anticipation and efforts of the film's team, "The Vaccine War" faced challenges in its initial box office performance, highlighting the unpredictable nature of the film industry.
