Just after the monsoon rains start, usually in the month of July, the cinema industry considers this a dry season. Because schools and colleges will be at full capacity, there are not many holidays, and at the same time, the footfall will be low. However, this year, Tollywood’s young chaps are thinking that July will bless them with luck and sunshine.

On July 3rd, we have Satyadev testing his luck with Rao Bahadhur at the box office, though he wants to score that blockbuster which never came his way. At the same time, a big producer’s brother-in-law, Virat Karna, made his debut with Pedda Kapu, but things didn’t work out; now coming up with Nagabandham, which is also another heavy-budgeted movie. Similarly, on July 10th, Akhil Akkineni is testing his luck with Lenin to score that hit film that’s evading him for a decade.

The buck goes to Tiruveer’s Oh Sukumari on July 17th, who is another struggling hero waiting for a blockbuster to come his way. Then comes the dubbed film Makutam, which has Vishal in the lead, and after 20 years of a good run at the Telugu market, this hero is struggling to get things right. Though his last couple of films spun some money, somehow Kiran Abbavaram is waiting for the right blockbuster, and his July 24th-releasing Chennai Love Story is what he pins his hopes on.

These half dozen heroes are betting big on their respective movies in the uncertain month of July, and hope all of them gets their dreams fulfilled.
