Back then, Venkatesh and Trivikram’s Adarsha Kutumbam wanted to hit cinemas on October 2nd, because they wanted to cash in on the long weekend. However, that film moved out, thinking that The Paradise might disrupt their chances. Now that other films are there, and the results are not so exciting, it looks like the long weekend is going to get wasted.
With October 2nd being a public holiday, falling on Friday, Tollywood has this long weekend with most colleges, schools and offices not working. That means there is a lot of audience to consume movies if served with good content. Telugu films like Fahadh Faasil’s Don’t Trouble The Trouble, Court fame Roshan’s Tella Kagitham are up for release with a lot of promotion, while dubbed Tamil movies like Sandeep Kishan’s Sigma and Keerthy Suresh’s Dorothy are also hitting the cinemas. Surprisingly, none of these films got a great talk at the Telugu box office from the first show itself.
While Don’t Trouble the Trouble is spelt to be a boring film, Tella Kaagitham is also equally tiresome in the first half. Then comes Dorothy, a kind of content that never worked at the Telugu box office, and there’s no guarantee that it will work. Similarly, we have Sandeep Kishan’s Sigma, and the film is not getting any great reviews so far.
At least these four films, along with The Paradise, should get some attention such that there will be a good collection; otherwise, the long weekend will be wasted as theatres will stare at empty seats.
