A group of prominent Telugu film producers met with Kandula Durgesh, the Minister for Cinematography in Andhra Pradesh, today in Vijayawada. Key figures present at the meeting included BVSN Prasad, DVV Danayya, KL Narayana, Bharath (Chamber President), Naga Vamsi, Yerneni Ravi Shankar, TG Vishwa Prasad, Cherry (Mythri Movies), Vamsi (UV Creations), Vivek Kuchibotla, and Sahu Garapati.
In a separate meeting, ace producer Dil Raju (FDC Chairman), along with Gemini Kiran, Prasanna Kumar, Damodhar Prasad, Supriya Yarlagadda, and Bhogavalli Bapineedu, met Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the Minister for Cinematography in Telangana, to discuss the same issue.
The main topic of conversation was the ongoing strike by the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation (TFIEF), which has entered its eighth day as of August 11, 2025. The TFIEF is demanding a 30% wage increase, to be split into 10% raises per year over three years. However, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce offered a conditional wage hike of 15-20% for lower-paid workers, but with requirements such as 12-hour workdays and more flexible hiring practices. The TFIEF rejected this offer.
The ongoing strike has caused major disruptions in the industry, halting all film shootings and leading to significant financial losses and delays in numerous projects. As the situation worsens, this meeting among producers and ministers has attracted a lot of attention. The producers are expected to address the media soon to share the outcomes of their discussions and the ministers response.
