Tollywood Stops Giving Secret Updates For Buzz

Once upon a time in Tollywood, every day we used to see some Media handle or an independent Twitter handle popping up some updates, which are often the insider information passed by the people in production houses. Often, top producers and heroes themselves used to give information about their projects, which are shared on PR handles as exclusive updates. However, these days, such updates are not at all coming. Wonder what happened?

For some long years, Tollywood folks spread updates through these channels, and it often led to some chaos on the internet. By the time the film actually releases in theatres, the film actually tries to hit the promotional blitzkrieg, the buzz is actually dying down because all the updates that will be featured in a teaser/trailer are already leaked as ‘exclusive updates’ on various channels. Understanding that this kind of promotion is killing the chances of a movie, now Tollywood folks are not even sharing any updates. They are silently wrapping even big pan-India projects, but making sure that no single update will be leaked outside their team.

Giving no updates is the biggest exercise now that Tollywood is doing, and they are hoping that this will result in huge attention for the movie and its respective promotional activities. Whether this works or not is not known, but many are wondering how a buzz around the film would be created if updates are not given on a specific project, which is something that even trade observers wonder.
