'A' Certificate Becomes The Latest Brand In Tollywood!
When a movie gets 'A' certificate, we see the producers, heroes and directors feeling very uncomfortable
When a movie gets 'A' certificate, we see the producers, heroes and directors feeling very uncomfortable. It is mainly because of the fact that it keeps the family audiences away and people may assume that their content is bold which creates negative opinions. But these are things of the past. The 'A' certificate is becoming a brand for movies these days. The fresh releases 'Gaami' and 'Bhimaa' belong to this category. Though a few multiplexes might take this certificate seriously, many theatres don't mind allowing below 18 years kids into an 'A' certificate film as long as they buy the ticket.
This trend started a few months back. Movies like 'Animal', 'Salaar Part – 1', 'Baby', 'MAD' and other super hit films were given 'A' certificate by the censor committee. But the collections were fantastic for these movies. When 'Arjun Reddy' got an 'A' certificate but it was viewed by family audience and youth in the same volume. Though it may sound strange, 'Gang Leader' which came out in 1991 too got an 'A' certificate. But people flooded into theatres to watch Chiranjeevi on the big screens.
In the coming days, the public may not take this certificate seriously. The violence, bold scenes and intimate romance are becoming quite common in movies. People got habituated to all these when web series became popular. The amount of boldness on OTT platforms made the theatrical releases seem family-friendly despite having a bit of violence and boldness. But the censor officials are doing their duty and giving an 'A' certificate to big hero movies too. There might be a time in the future when the team proudly flaunts the 'A' certificate at pre-release events soon.
