Yash Promises Something Darker with Toxic

After KGF, Yash could have easily gone the safe-commercial-cinema route again. But instead, he’s choosing a different path with Toxic, and going by what he’s saying, this is not a regular gangster film. Attending an event in Hollywood the other day, promoting his other film “Ramayana” along with producer Namith Malhotra, the actor made some interesting revelations.
Yash himself revealed that Toxic will feature some of the “darkest characters” Indian cinema has seen. Not just that, he will be appearing in multiple looks, hinting at an unpredictable character arc with lots of darker shades. This isn’t about hero elevation alone, but also for other characters also. Interestingly, Yash made it clear that Toxic is not designed as a franchise film. At a time when everyone is thinking in terms of universes and sequels, he’s consciously stepping away from that formula.
He even compared the film’s tone to Sinners, suggesting a raw, intense narrative rather than a mass-commercial template designed by director Geethu Mohandas. The hero also contributed to the writing department of the movie. Because post-KGF, expectations are sky-high. The easy route was to repeat the same success pattern. But Yash seems more focused on doing something different rather than playing it safe. Hoped Toxic releases on June 4th as promised, and pays off these claims.
On the other hand, Yash hailed that even Ramayana is a bigger project, and despite the fact that the audience knows this story from years, they are going to enjoy it big time due to a different perspective being shown. Both the films, Toxic and Ramayana Part 1, are hitting cinemas in 2026 only.
