We don't need a separate introduction to explain the heavy competition between the OTT platforms. A lot of international streaming sites are ruling the roost in India. There are a few Indian OTT platforms in the race too. A lot of producers from Tollywood, Kollywood, Mollywood and Bollywood are also starting their own streaming sites. But it is very challenging to lock horns with international companies that have a lot of resources.

They are far ahead of Indian OTT platforms when in comes to quality content as well as quantity. We are witnessing how the competition is growing big with each passing day. There are a few who claim that the future will belong to OTTs and the theatres will vanish. Latest reports suggest that the central government is getting ready to bring its own OTT platform into the mix.

The main motive of this platform is to promote our traditions, culture and lifestyle to everyone. Apart from entertainment, they will present current affairs too. Apparently, the government is going to make it accessible for free of cost and the subscription costs will be included only after a year or two. We don't know the progress of this OTT platform.

Unless government organizations reveal the information through official sources, there will be no updates. The Indian crowd are habituated to OTT content and many people have stopped going to theatres. With the future lying in the hands of OTT platforms, it looks like the government is also getting into the market to reach more people.
