Three years back, director Buchi Babu Sana made 'Uppena' with Vaisshnav Tej and Krithi Shetty as the lead actors. The way he handled such a sensitive love story and the fresh treatment he gave has won the hearts of everyone. The collections were phenomenal and both the actors became quite busy after that. Buchi Babu waited for the next few years and he has officially started his next project with Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor.
Despite being such a big hit, no one remade the film till now and there are rumours regarding the Mythri Movie Makers selling the remake rights. Now, sources say that Janhvi Kapoor's father Boney Kapoor is interested in remaking this film. He is reportedly planning to make this film with his younger daughter Khushi Kapoor in the lead. While it is a very good film, the natural authenticity and local flavour is not easy to replicate in Bollywood. 'Uppena' is quite rooted and Buchi Babu's taking played a very key role in the movie's success.
On top of that, Khushi Kapoor's debut film 'The Archies' performed very poorly and her acting received a lot of criticism. Bony Kapoor is reportedly looking at a suitable hero and the director who can create the magic. There were also reports of Khushi acting in 'Love Today' remake too. While Janhvi is working with big South Indian names like NTR and Ram Charan, her sister Khushi is looking to remake South Indian love stories. Let us see if Boney Kapoor's strategy works out or not.
