A recent comment made by young producer Vamsi Nandipati created a big controversy related to the prestigious Nandi Awards. The issue started during the release date announcement event of the movie Saampradaayini Suppini Suddapoosani. While speaking about actress Laya, Vamsi Nandipati accidentally used a phrase that sounded disrespectful toward the Nandi Awards.

His statement was misunderstood by many. Several media outlets began criticizing him, saying that he insulted the Nandi Awards. However, according to Vamsi, that was never his intention. He later explained that he was trying to use rhyme while speaking and ended up choosing the wrong words. Because of that mistake, the situation turned into a controversy.

To clear the air, Vamsi Nandipati spoke openly at the success meet of his film Hey Balwant. He apologized sincerely and explained what he actually meant.

He said, "At that event, I suddenly misspoke. That statement was not my intention. It came out wrong. I was recalling something someone said nearly 12 years ago and mentioned it as an example. I have deep respect for God and awards. Just like I have strong faith in God, I have the same respect for awards. Since my childhood, I dreamed of receiving an award like the Nandi Award. That dream is the reason I entered the film industry. Why would I ever speak badly about such a great award? If my words hurt anyone’s feelings, I am really sorry."

His apology was accepted by many, and people felt that he genuinely understood his mistake. With his clarification, it looks like the controversy has finally come to an end.

Speaking about Hey Balwant, Vamsi shared his happiness about the film’s financial success. He said that the movie achieved break-even, which is a big relief for him as a producer.

He added, "Very few producers openly say their film has reached break-even. I am happy that Hey Balwant is one such film. When a producer recovers money, it gives confidence to make more good films. We made this movie with a budget of nearly 10 crore rupees. Through OTT, satellite rights, theatrical collections, and overseas business, we recovered the full amount. The US collections were also good. We are confident the film will soon enter the profit zone."
