A recent controversy involving actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and director Sanjeev Megoti has now come to an end on a positive note. The director publicly apologized to the actress after making comments about her absence from the promotional activities of their upcoming film Police Complaint.

The issue started when Sanjeev Megoti spoke at a press meet and expressed disappointment that Varalaxmi was not taking part in the film’s promotions. He said many people were asking whether she had only a small role in the movie because she was not attending promotional events. The director pointed out that Varalaxmi appears on screen for almost two hours in the film and plays a major role.

He also mentioned that the actress had not dubbed for the film for several months and said that production schedules were adjusted after she suffered a hand injury. According to him, these delays caused financial difficulties for the producer. The director further compared her absence from promotions with the efforts of several industry personalities who actively support their films.

However, the situation changed quickly. On Thursday, Sanjeev Megoti released a video apologizing to Varalaxmi Sarathkumar for his remarks. He acknowledged that she had continued working on the film despite her injury and cooperated with the team during the shoot.

The director admitted that his comments at the press meet were a mistake. He clarified that Varalaxmi never created any problems for the production team and said he was sorry for speaking negatively about her. He also revealed that many people from the film industry contacted him and questioned why he had made those remarks.

Sanjeev Megoti said he wanted to organize a press meet with Varalaxmi to help the film’s distributors, but he now regrets the way he handled the situation. He promised that such an incident would not happen again.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar responded positively to the apology. She shared the director’s video on her Instagram Story and wrote, “Apology accepted.. justice and truth will always win.” She also thanked the Telugu Film Producers Council and its representatives for responding quickly to the matter.
