The controversy between actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Police Complaint director Sanjeev Megoti has finally come to an end. A few days ago, the director publicly apologized to the actress after his earlier comments created a major discussion in the film industry.
Now, during a media interaction, the director once again spoke about the issue and explained his side of the story. He said, "I did not make a mistake so serious that I needed to apologize to Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. However, I apologized because the elders in the industry advised me to do so. She later shared a post about it on Instagram, and it received lakhs of likes."
The director meanwhile praised Varalaxmi for her dedication during the shooting of the film. He revealed that the actress supported the project even when she was facing health issues. He added, “Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was very supportive during the shooting of the film. Even after suffering a finger injury, she took only one month of rest, although she was advised to take six months off. She cooperated with us a lot during the shoot. The issue arose only when it came to the film's promotions."
Earlier, the director had alleged that Varalaxmi did not fully participate in dubbing and promotional activities for the film. Those comments led to a disagreement between both sides. The issue later reached the Telugu Film Producers Council, where discussions were held to resolve the matter.
After the talks, Sanjeev Megoti publicly apologized and withdrew his previous statements. Varalaxmi accepted the apology and shared a message on social media saying that truth and justice always win.
