Roja said that there was no major personal fight between her and Venkatesh. Instead, a few unexpected incidents and communication problems created a distance between them.
Venkatesh and Roja were popular stars in Telugu cinema during the 1990s. Both actors had successful careers and worked with many leading stars and filmmakers. However, Venkatesh and Roja did not appear together in many films. This has often made fans wonder why their combination was not repeated.
Roja said that there was no major personal fight between her and Venkatesh. Instead, a few unexpected incidents and communication problems created a distance between them.
A film with Venkatesh as the hero was launched under director Selvamani. Around the same time, a Tamil film starring Vijayakanth became a big success. The producers reportedly decided to remake the film with another hero and heroine without properly informing Selvamani.
Roja was in a relationship with Selvamani at that time. She reportedly felt hurt by the way the situation was handled. According to her, this incident created some emotional distance.
Another incident happened during the shooting of Pokiri Raja, in which Venkatesh and Roja acted together. The shooting was taking place around Mysore when a song had to be shot again because of a technical issue.
Roja had already informed the production team that she needed to return to Hyderabad by October 21 because Selvamani's birthday was on October 22. However, the shooting work was not completed as expected.
Roja became upset and left for Hyderabad after informing the production team.Roja later said that the real reason for her leaving the shooting was not properly explained to Venkatesh. She believed that he was given incorrect information about the incident.
She said that Venkatesh was reportedly told that she had become angry and left even after he asked her to stay. This may have created a misunderstanding.
Roja also said that she did not personally explain the situation to Venkatesh at that time. As a result, the communication gap continued.
Roja has made it clear that there was no personal enmity between them. She said that whenever they met, Venkatesh always spoke to her warmly.
She also recalled meeting him on a flight after she became a minister. According to Roja, Venkatesh congratulated her and told her, "You deserve it."
Roja believes that small misunderstandings and communication problems affected their professional combination. However, she has said that there is mutual respect between the two even today.
