Is Venkatesh Eyeing At Another Remake?
Set in the backdrop of hypnotization and black magic, sources claim that senior hero Venkatesh is looking to remake it in Telugu.
The recently released 'Shaitaan' is registering decent numbers at the box office. Ajay Devgn and Jyothika played the lead roles in this movie while Madhavan did great as the haunting villain. Despite the initial mixed talk, the collections over the weekend have been quite good. A few extra shows have also been added to the movie which explains how the audience are embracing it.
'Shaitaan' is a horror thriller and it is a remake of the Gujarati blockbuster movie 'Vash'. Set in the backdrop of hypnotization and black magic, sources claim that senior hero Venkatesh is looking to remake it in Telugu. Apparently, the 'Narappa' hero liked the movie's concept but it has a huge risk factor. 'Shaitaan' might have Ajay Devgn but it was completely dominated by Madhavan'. He sends shivers down your spine with his action and he is terrifying, especially in the climax.
Ajay gets limited scope for acting and it is way less for an actor of Venkatesh's caliber. If he opts to play Madhavan's role, the family audience may not like it. We have seen how they rejected him in an action role in 'Saindhav' and his bold series 'Rana Naidu' too got a lot of criticism. The villain character in 'Shaitaan' is too important and the movie's verdict will be based on who plays it. Any top actor would completely dominate Venky and a small actor can have a negative effect on the movie.
The idea of remaking this film is in the discussion stage right now. Venkatesh earlier planned to do a Malayalam film remake earlier but dropped it later. We need to see what Venky decides. Currently, he is working on the second season of 'Rana Naidu' and the project with Anil Ravipudi is expected to kickstart soon.
