Another Telugu Director Up For Sambar Test

We have seen the likes of Vamsi Paidipally, Sekhar Kammula and Venky Atluri earlier, and the result is the same. All these three directors have so far directed Tamil films to showcase the strength of the Telugu creative mind to the Sambar-loving audience, but the result is the same. And now, Venky Atluri is getting ready to get tested again.
Well, to give an idea, even before the pan-India boom, many Telugu directors started venturing into Bollywood and making movies, but that didn’t click for all, except for Ram Gopal Varma. Though Telugu makers are able to crack the Hindi code, somehow the Tamil fortress remained impenetrable. Later, after the pan-India surge, some Telugu directors started making Tamil movies, including Vijay’s Varisu, Dhanush’s Kubera, and Sir, directed by Paidipally, Kammula, and Atluri, respectively. Though the films are good, somehow the Tamil industry hasn’t embraced these directors.
On the contrary, whenever Tamil directors like AR Murugadoss, Siruthai Siva and others made direct Telugu movies, Tollywood loved them. Forget about dubbed movies, because the Telugu audience has always encouraged them. Now that Venky Atluri is coming up with Viswanath & Sons, his second direct Tamil film, this time with Suriya, we have to see how it gets received there. Also, if Venky passes the Sambar test and becomes a favourite in Tamil or not is to be seen.
