Tripti Dimri gained nationwide fame with her bold act in 'Animal'. She signed a few big projects instantly and one of them is 'Bad Newz' which has Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk playing male leads. Apart from 'Kalki 2898 AD', Bollywood had a pretty dry run over the past few days. 'Bad Newz' generated a lot of buzz thanks to Vicky's smooth moves in 'Tauba Tauba' going viral. With Tripti's craze adding to it, the advance bookings were highly encouraging.

Director Anand Tiwari tries to tell a complicated story in an entertaining manner. Comedy is the main motto of the film and that is why even some serious scenes are diluted. The film lacks strong narration which worked against it. Though Vicky Kaushal did a fantastic job and tried to save the movie all by himself, the two other main leads were disappointing. The comedy becomes repetitive and stale after a point. Tripti needs to improve a lot when it comes to pulling off the commercial heroine role. While the North crowd may like it, 'Bad Newz' may not connect with the local audience.
