Vijay Deverakonda has shared some interesting comments about the current situation of Telugu cinema. He attended the pre-release event of Epic – First Semester, the upcoming film starring his brother Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya. The movie is directed by Aditya Hasan and is set to release in theatres on September 11.
Vijay attended the event as the chief guest and spoke about his brother’s movie, Aditya Hasan and several upcoming Telugu films. He said that the Telugu film industry is currently enjoying a very good phase. He also expressed confidence that many upcoming films will become successful.
Vijay said that he will be meeting fans regularly over the next few months because several films connected to the Deverakonda family are coming. Anand Deverakonda’s Epic – First Semester will arrive on September 11. Vijay’s own film is expected on October 16, followed by another film featuring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in November.
Talking about the current phase of Telugu cinema, Vijay said, "This is a great and superb year for Telugu cinema. Films are coming one after another, people are loving them, and the movies are becoming successful."
He also mentioned several upcoming films and said that the rest of the year looks very exciting for Telugu movie lovers. According to Vijay, films like Epic, The Paradise, Ranabali, Mysa, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi 2, Fauji and Dada are among the movies that audiences are waiting for.
Vijay confidently said that Telugu cinema could achieve a 100 percent strike rate this year. He gave this exciting run a fun name, "Operation TFI." He hopes that all these movies will become blockbusters and, more importantly, give audiences happy memories.
Vijay said, "I strongly feel that Telugu cinema can achieve a 100 percent strike rate this year." He also added that success is not only about becoming a blockbuster. According to him, the main goal should be for audiences to enjoy the movies and remember them for a long time.
He further said, "The movies should not just become blockbusters. The audience should enjoy them and create memories that they can remember for a long time. I am very confident that this journey will start with Epic."
Vijay also spoke warmly about director Aditya Hasan. He said he did not know much about Aditya before watching his popular web series 90s. Vijay jokingly said that he normally did not watch ETV because he was not interested in serials.
However, after watching Aditya’s work, Vijay became interested in his next project. He revealed, "I never used to watch ETV in my life. I even took an ETV Win subscription to watch 90s because of Aditya Hasan."
Vijay praised Aditya for making 90s a successful web series. He said that Aditya managed to make many people in the Telugu states download and use the ETV Win app.
Vijay also compared Aditya’s journey with director Tharun Bhascker. He said, "I was very excited about Tharun Bhascker’s debut before I became an actor. He was a legend in short films, and I always felt that the industry would be surprised when he made a movie. I felt the same way about Aditya."
He further said that Anand Deverakonda is lucky to get the opportunity to work with Aditya Hasan.
Vijay’s comments have created more interest around Epic – First Semester. With several big Telugu films lined up in the coming months, movie lovers are now waiting to see whether Vijay’s "Operation TFI" prediction will come true.
