The pan-India period drama “Ranabaali,” starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, arrived in theatres worldwide today. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film has been presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and T-Series Films and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Following its release, the team held a press meet in Hyderabad, where producer Ravi Shankar spoke about the audience response and the aspects of the film connecting with viewers.
Ravi Shankar said that the episodes featuring the lead pair were receiving an excellent response, with audiences appreciating the realistic treatment of their scenes. “As we mentioned at our events, the episodes featuring Rashmika and Vijay are receiving a superb response. Audiences are appreciating the authenticity and realistic feel of their scenes,” he said. He added that the action sequences, climax and other key moments were receiving the kind of response the team had hoped for, making them happy to witness the reactions inside theatres.
The producer also acknowledged that some viewers had suggested a shorter runtime but explained that period dramas require sufficient time to establish their stories. “Period films require a certain amount of time to tell their stories. However, after the matinee and first shows, we are seeing the audience response grow,” he said. Ravi Shankar expressed confidence in the film’s box-office potential and noted that family audiences across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were watching it enthusiastically. He also shared that Tabitha, the wife of director Sukumar, had called to tell the team how much she liked the film.
Ravi Shankar encouraged audiences to experience the film in theatres, saying, “When you visit theatres, you will enter the world of ‘Ranabaali’ and enjoy the experience.” Featuring Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna and Arnold Vosloo, the film is directed by Rahul Sankrityan, with music by Ajay–Atul and cinematography by Nirav Shah and Jishnu Bhattacharjee.
