Vijay Deverakonda is not new to opinions flying around him, especially online. Known for his frank nature, he finally responded to the buzz about the “The” tag that once appeared before his name during the Liger promotions. While the move grabbed attention, it also brought criticism. Speaking openly, Vijay cleared the air and said he never cared for titles or labels, and prefers to let his work talk.

He pointed out that many actors have used tags, some are called Universal Star, others People's Star. “Those who came before me, and even those after me, have these kinds of labels. But somehow, I ended up being the only one trolled so much for it,” he said. Vijay made it clear he never wanted a tag and didn’t ask fans to use one. He added that “The” was just part of a marketing idea, not his identity.

Vijay admitted that while some fans found the tag catchy, he personally didn’t relate to it. “I don’t want to be remembered because of a tagline. Call me Vijay Deverakonda, that’s enough,” he said. After seeing the backlash, he asked his team to drop the “The” from his name in all campaigns. For him, the connection with fans comes through roles and performances, not extra titles.

Addressing other speculations too, Vijay briefly spoke about personal struggles. He said he’s faced tough times from a young age and still continues to deal with challenges. “Everything that happened made me who I am. I take every setback as something to push past, not something to hide from,” he shared. Vijay’s approach remains simple, show up, act, and keep moving forward.
