One Month Waiting For Jana Nayagan To Continue

Ever since Ilayathalapathy Vijay took oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, many are waiting to see the release of his last theatrical outing, Jana Nayagan, which is stuck in the cans from early January this year. While the CBFC earlier blocked the release, saying that the film has political overtones that will favour Vijay in the elections, now there’s no such thing to stop the release, as he has already become CM. But then, what’s stunning is that it’s weeks after Vijay got elected, but Jana Nayagan is still sitting silent.

Reports are coming that the makers of Jana Nayagan, KVN Productions, are actually happy with the election result, as that would do a huge favour to the film now. However, rather than just releasing the movie at the height of Summer, just like that, they want an occasion so that fans will celebrate the film. As June 22nd happens to be Vijay’s birthday, they want to release the movie on 19th June such that fans would celebrate the occasion in a big way. Also, that move would bring more revenue than anticipated. Already, trade circles are predicting that the film might have a solid ₹100 crores opener

So, technically, fans should wait for a minimum of a month for the movie’s release to happen. Also, some say that Vijay might hold another event in Chennai to promote the film, as he wants to make sure that his producer will get all the losses covered due to the delay that happened. Because almost ₹250 crores is at stake, and if one has to pay interest for this money every month, then it's going to be massive for a period of 6 months. Let’s see which date gets locked.
