Actor Vijay Wife Sangeetha Sornalingam Requests Divorce, Alleges Infidelity

Tamil actor and politician Vijay is once again in the news, but this time for personal reasons. Reports say that his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has filed for divorce after 25 years of marriage. This development has created a lot of discussion in film and political circles.

Vijay and Sangeetha got married in August 1999. Over the years, they were often seen as a private and respectful couple. They have two children – a son, Jason Sanjay, and a daughter, Divya Sasha. According to reports, Sangeetha has mentioned serious allegations in her divorce petition. She has accused Vijay of having an extramarital relationship with another actress. Sangeetha has also stated that Vijay had promised to end the relationship. However, she alleges that he did not keep his word and continued the same behavior. The divorce petition has been filed under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. Under this law, a spouse can seek divorce on grounds like cruelty or infidelity. Reports say that Sangeetha has referred to these specific sections while filing the case, stating that her marriage was affected due to these issues.

At present, the case is said to be under consideration in a district court. The legal process is still in the early stages, and no final decision has been taken yet. Vijay has not made any official statement regarding the divorce or the allegations so far.
