Violent Stories Became A Trend Again

At a time when many ruled out that ‘violence’ is not going to work any more, films like KGF and Salaar have disproved all that thought process. Add the likes of recent releases like Marco, #OG and DC to it, and there is a widespread belief now that violence will work big time if projected rightly. If we look at the upcoming films, it can be understood easily.

If we look at the teaser of Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming films like Ranabaali, set in the British era, and Rowdy Janardhana, it looks like violence is the central element of the movies. Whether that is killing the British or English men torturing Indian subjects, violence is at the central core of the movie Ranabaali. Similarly, the upcoming The Paradise also features Nani in his most violent role ever, and the teaser already proved the same. Looks like bloodshed in the name of championing the cause of the poor is being justified through the movie.

That said, Sai Dharam Tej’s upcoming films like Sambarala Yeti Gattu, Sharwanand’s Bhogi, Balakrishna’s Dada are also filled with lots of violence. Even the sequel film #OG Universe might be filled with a lot of Katana-backed violence only like the first instalment. Despite the arrival of OTTs and the ability to experiment more with content, it’s surprising that ‘violent’ films are still finding their foot.
