Was Cult Inspired by HIT 3 and Squid Game?

Vishwak Sen’s upcoming film Cult has been creating strong discussions ever since its glimpse release. Since glimpse release, mny people started comparing the movie with other popular projects like HIT: The Third Case starring Nani and the famous Netflix series Squid Game. Because the Cult reportedly includes a deadly game setup, it became doubt that if Vishwak Sen was inspired by these projects.

During recent interactions, Vishwak Sen openly responded to these comparisons. He explained that the idea of Cult did not come after watching HIT 3 or Squid Game. He clearly stated that he started working on this story inspired by Project X. According to him, the film has its own identity and thought process.

Vishwak Sen also spoke about how the story was developed. He revealed his first Directorial Falaknuma Das is a remake. Later, his second film Das Ka Dhamki is the idea that he received from Prasanna Kumar. However, he strongly emphasized that the of Cult is completely his own creation. He said that the he wrote the story from scratch.

Talking about direction, Vishwak Sen shared an interesting detail. Initially, he planned to bring in another director for Cult. But as the story grew, everything became very clear in his mind. He said that every scene, every twist, and every character was already fixed in his thoughts. Because of this clarity, he finally decided to direct the film himself.

He also mentioned that Cult was written completely from scratch. He spent a lot of time refining the screenplay to make sure the tension stays strong throughout the film.
