Nayanthara is the ‘Most Badass Sister’

Kannada star Yash has finally confirmed an important detail about his upcoming film Toxic. He revealed that Nayanthara plays his sister in the movie and praised her performance and commitment. Yash also called her “the most badass sister anyone could have.”

Speaking at the trailer launch event, Yash talked about working with Nayanthara for the first time. He said that she accepted the film even though she had a very busy schedule and limited dates. He appreciated her decision to be part of Toxic despite her busy career.

“It takes a lot of grace to choose this film and do what you've done. You're a Lady Superstar. You can run behind individual films, and I know what your market is, but when we came to you with this film, you didn’t have much time in terms of dates, but you committed so well. You look like the most badass sister anyone could have,” Yash said.

Yash also said that he and Nayanthara have something in common. According to him, both of them are not very comfortable with film promotions. “She's someone like me who is not very good at promotions. This is not because we want to be this way, but because we don't really know how and what to talk about at these things,” he explained.

Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas. Yash has also worked with Geetu on the writing of the film. The actor said that he liked Geetu’s passion when she first came to him with the story.

“When Geetu Mohandas came to me with the idea, she had a burning passion and desire to show the world what she’s capable of doing and what true cinema can be,” he said.

Yash also spoke about the support he received from his wife, former actress Radhika Pandit. He said that the film was very demanding and pushed him outside his comfort zone. He is also appearing in different looks in the movie.

“I’m a difficult person to be with. And this particular film was demanding and I’ve pushed myself beyond my comfort zone to give the right content with the right intent. I also feature in about 2-3 different looks. She has been a big support for me,” Yash said.

He also shared the principle he follows in his personal and professional life. “I always only have one thing in mind. It’s to be honest whether it’s a relationship or film,” he added.

Toxic is expected to be a dark and intense film with Yash in a different role. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on August 26.
