After creating buzz with Toxic and Ramayana, Yash is now set to explore a new genre with a sci-fi film directed by Tamil filmmaker PS Mithran.
Kannada superstar Yash, who rose to international fame with the KGF series, is currently busy with two massive projects — Toxic and Ramayana. Toxic, an intense gangster drama, is set to hit theatres on March 19, 2026, while Ramayana Parts 1 and 2 are expected to release during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027, respectively.
Meanwhile, reports from the Tamil film industry suggest that Yash might soon collaborate with director PS Mithran for a new venture. Mithran, known for his intelligent storytelling and unique concepts, has reportedly penned an experimental sci-fi thriller tailor-made for Yash. Though the project hasn’t been officially announced, discussions between the two are said to be progressing positively.
If everything goes according to plan, the film is expected to go on floors early next year. Fans are already excited to see Yash step into a futuristic and experimental role, quite different from his usual mass-action image.
After completing this sci-fi project, Yash is likely to team up again with Prashanth Neel for the much-awaited KGF Chapter 3, one of the most anticipated sequels in Indian cinema.
Yash’s choice of varied scripts shows his desire to expand beyond the traditional action hero image and explore new genres in Indian cinema.
