Toxic Is Not Just Yash’s Film, It Is An Indian Film

Behind the stylish world glimpsed in the Toxic trailer lies a filmmaking journey that Rocking Star Yash describes as one of the most demanding experiences of his career. At the trailer launch, the actor spoke not only about the film but also about the people, sacrifices and unwavering belief that kept the project moving.

Yash began by placing Toxic in a much larger context. The film, he stressed, brings together talent from different industries and should not be viewed as belonging to one particular language. “Toxic is not just Yash’s film; it is an Indian film,” he said, pointing to the diverse group of stars and technicians who came together for the project.

Toxic reportedly required nearly 200 days of shooting. The team also worked with an ensemble of busy actors and had to manage two versions of the film. Yash credited producer Venkat for remaining steadfast throughout the process and continuing to believe in the team's vision despite rumours and difficulties.

But if there was one person Yash repeatedly highlighted as the creative driving force, it was Geetu Mohandas. He said her passion was evident from the moment she approached him with the idea. “Passion never goes to waste,” Yash stated, adding that her commitment and sacrifices convinced him to join her journey.

His appreciation extended across the entire cast. Yash described Nayanthara's choice to take on the role as a graceful decision, praised Tara Sutaria's elegance and contribution, and said Huma Qureshi had become one of the brand ambassadors of Toxic. He also singled out Kiara Advani's dedication, revealing that what audiences have seen in the trailer represents only a glimpse of her work.

Yash also offered an unusually personal glimpse into his own experience. He admitted that he is a difficult person to be around and said the film demanded a tremendous amount from him. The multiple looks, long schedules and pressure to deliver the right content pushed him beyond his comfort zone, while his wife supported him throughout the demanding process.

His words about the film's philosophy were equally significant. Yash said he does not allow other people's doubts to dictate his choices. “If somebody tells me that I cannot do something, I see it as a lack of imagination on their part,” he remarked.

The trailer has now opened the door to that world, and the film's ultimate impact will determine whether Yash and Geetu's ambitious vision translates into the cinematic experience they have envisioned.
