Toxic's ₹320 Cr Gross: Here's The Lesson?
When it comes to Yash’s latest movie “Toxic”, a big follow-up to his image-graph that raised like anything after the success of the KGF franchise, the film took a huge beating at the box office.
If a film is made on a ₹50-80 crore budget, and it gets around ₹300 crores from the box office, then it will be called a stupendous blockbuster. But if a film is made with a nearly ₹400 crore budget, and it collects ₹320 crores from the box office with a disaster talk, then the film won’t get appreciation, but truly it shows star power. However, there are a few lessons to learn.
When it comes to Yash’s latest movie “Toxic”, a big follow-up to his image-graph that raised like anything after the success of the KGF franchise, the film took a huge beating at the box office. Though it got a mighty opening at the box office, surely the negative talk that popped up on Day 1 has killed the film’s chances. Since then, the film never recovered, though some loyal fans across India kept watching the movie.
But still, combining the national and overseas collection, the film clocked almost ₹320 crores, and that is pure Yash stamina. The biggest lesson is that a star hero should not take his stardom for granted. Yash’s last outing, KGF 2, collected around ₹1200+ crores, which is four times more than Toxic. Choosing the wrong subject and spending a huge amount of time cooking an improperly baked film has definitely led to this disastrous result.
More than anything, taking the audience for granted is the biggest setback one will face, and bigger stardom also needs to be handled carefully, more than creatively. That was proven in Prabhas’ case earlier, and Yash’s case now.
