The superior quality thriller '1 - Nenokkadine' has incrred huge losses to the 14 Reels and Eros as the film didn't go down well with the masses, especially the crowds in B & C centres. Although audience in A centres and Overseas appreciated the genuine efforts of the team, that alone isn't sufficient to save a Rs 70 crore venture.
Luckily, Producers have been able to recover at least some of their losses through the sale of satellite and dubbing rights. Prior to the theatrical release, Makers pocketed Rs 12 crore by offering the satellite rights o Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions to Sun Network. The latest development is that '1 - Nenokkadine' Hindi dubbing rights have been sold out for a record Rs 4 crore. A film like 'ONE' which is rich in content will be appreciated by the North Indians and hence the high price.
Few months ago, Hindi dubbing rights of 'Yevadu' was sold out for Rs 3.5 crore and this stood has the highest price offered to a Telugu film until recently. Now, 'ONE' occupies the top spot.
