As many as 128 countries across the World defied the threat issued by US President Donald Trump and voted in favour of a United Nations General Assembly resolution seeking America to drop its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel capital.
Earlier, Donald Trump threatened to call off financial aid offered to countries which favour the UN Resolution. To his shock, 128 came forward to do what they felt is right. While 9 nations voted against the resolution, About 35 other countries abstained from voting. Most of the countries which disapproved and abstained were influenced by Trump's warning.
Still, United States ended up facing isolation on the world stage as many of the countries with whom good relations were maintained favoured the resolution. Even India had voted favourable to the UN Resolution.
After being isolated, US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the General Assembly.
