Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Y Srilakshmi of the 1988 batch who was allotted to Telangana after the state was carved out of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh made a prolonged effort and got transferred to Andhra Pradesh.
After managing to get transferred to Andhra Pradesh, the 1988 batch IAS officer was appointed as the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Secretary replacing serving Secretary J Syamala Rao.
As a secretary in the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department, her main task is to oversee the process of three capital issues, the burning issue in the state.
She received the good news of her appointment, after nearly two weeks of her transfer to Andhra Pradesh from Telangana. To get transferred to AP, Srilakshmi even approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Hyderabad
Earlier, media reports claimed that she will be posted in the Chief Minister's office, but she was taken into the MAUD department. She will be taken into the CMO later, reports claimed.
