20,000 Indians ran away from Saudi Arabia

Around 20,000 Indians have vacated Saudi Arabia after the government brought a new labour law called Nitaqat into affect. The new rule is an attempt to keep a check on the number of people arriving to Saudi Arabia from different parts of the World.

Indian Embassy's deputy chief of mission Sibi George clarified every Indian who is in Saudi for more than the time permitted was given two options - either to find a new job or go back to India and return to Saudi for avoiding penalty.

The final date for illegal immigrants to leave Saudi Arabia has been extended from July 3rd to November 3rd. The people who were found guilty will be liable to punishment after the end of deadline. In the next few months, exodus to India from Saudi Arabia are expected.
