A day after, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly hinted at the suspension of the Asia Cup 2020, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the suspension of the Asia Cup. The tournament will be conducted in June 2021 by Srilanka.
In the official statement, ACC said the Board very keen to organize the tournament as per the schedule, but some aspects like health risks and the outbreak of the virus forced to take the decision.
With this, Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) which is gearing up to organize the tournament will have to wait till 2022 to host the tournament. Sri Lanka was given the hosting rights for 2021.
The other day, Sourav Ganguly, aka Dada participated in an Instagram Live session with Sports Tak and said, Asia Cup 2020 which is supposed to be held in September has been canceled.
However, PCB did not pay much attention to the announcement of Sourav Ganguly and said, Saurav's announcements didn't have any weightage and he is not the right one to say so.
Sourav Ganguly's announcements appeared true with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) reciprocating dada's statements in the suspension of the 2020 edition of the Asia Cup.
