21 Fresh COVID-19 Cases In AP, Count Reaches 132

The count of the positive cases of the novel coronavirus jumped from 111 to 132 overnight in Andhra Pradesh with 21 fresh cases reporting on Thursday morning linked with the Tablighi Jamaat meeting in the Markaz Nizamuddin area of Delhi.

So far, the Andhra Pradesh Government has taken 1,800 samples so far out of which 132 tested positive while 1175 were negative. The results of 493 persons are still awaited.

"A majority of them are those who attended the jamaat meeting and a few are their family members or those who came in close contact with them," Health Minister A Krishna Srinivas said.

Three fresh deaths were reported in Telangana in fellow Telugu state Telangana and more than 30 positive cases were also reported in the state ringing the danger bells.

"Initially, the virus spread among those who came from abroad and through them it spread to others. They are all recovering. Many of them discharged. No case among them was serious. Nobody died. But the positive cases for the past few days are all those who went to Markaz," statement of Telangana CMO read.

What's even more shocking is that the 3o new cases reported in the span of 24 hours which takes the count of the positive cases to 107 while 14 people who were cured completely were discharged.
